The Validity of Cognition metric allows us to assess how true your client thinks a belief is over the duration of the therapy.
Pick a belief centered around the event being processed and have your client provide a value 1 - 7 of how true they think
that belief is. One means it is not true at all, seven means it is completely true.
During EMDR, the SUDS scale helps track changing perceptions about the event being processed over the duration of the therapy.
Have your client hold the
thought or experience that they find bothersome in their mind, and assign a
number 0 - 10 of how much this troubles them. A zero indicates no distress, while a ten indicates extreme distress.
( Clarity of memory recall )
The memory recall metric allows us to assess the clarity with which the client can recall the traumatic memory being processed.
A one means that they cannot recall the memory at all, a ten means that they can recall it with perfect clarity.
